What actually works

We lost a six-figure deal on Thursday to a competitor with half our features and no track record in the space. I called the prospect afterward and asked what happened. She told me something I didn't expect: our demo was too polished. She said it felt like a performance, not a conversation. The other vendor showed up with a messy prototype, asked her team to poke holes in it live, and built a custom workflow on the call. We showed up trying to impress. They showed up trying to collaborate. I've run 200+ demos and I've never once asked a prospect to break the product in front of me. We're changing that starting Monday. Every demo now starts with: "Here's what we built based on your use case. What's wrong with it?" The deal is gone. The lesson is worth more.

The good version tells you exactly what happened, what the prospect actually said, and the specific change they're making as a result. You finish reading it with a new idea for your own demos. That's the difference between a post that performs vulnerability and one that earns it.
