LinkedIn Post Example: Giving Credit to Someone

Someone changed your perspective and you want to acknowledge them. Here's how to do it without making it about your own feelings.

What most people post

Sooo I jumped on a call with a former coworker expecting like 15 min and it turned into an HOUR 😭 She basically told me I'm chasing the wrong thing and honestly... it hit different The people who really care about you are the ones who tell you what you don't want to hear Forever grateful for people like that in my life ❤️ Who's someone that changed your perspective?? What actually works

I jumped on a call with a former colleague last week expecting a quick 15-minute catch-up. It turned into an hour. She challenged me on something I'd been avoiding: that I was optimizing for title instead of learning. She said something that stuck with me. "You're three years into your career. Pick the role where you'll be embarrassed by how little you know on day one. That's the one." I've been thinking about it ever since. Sometimes the best career advice comes from people who have nothing to gain from giving it to you.

Emojis (😭 ❤️ 👇👇) — emotional performance
Engagement bait — "Tag them below"
Overly casual tone masking lack of substance — "it hit different"
Generic motivational language — "The people who really care about you..."
No specifics about what the advice actually was

The good version gives you the exact quote and the exact challenge. You remember the advice because you heard it the same way the author did. It's short, it's specific, and it doesn't ask you to tag anyone.
